Badminton.

Last week on Thursday morning room 22 had a Badminton session with the Auckland Badminton coach Lawreen in the school hall.

Lawreen our instructor taught us the proper way of hitting a shuttle cock with a racket. There were a few techniques for remembering like thumbs up then thumbs down. After learning this technique we were given a challenge to try and get as many shuttles into a bin that was five steps away from you.

We were given a few challenges but my favorite was hitting it back and forth with my partner. The challenge was to hit the shuttles 100 or more times non stop.My partner Henry and I only managed to hit the shuttle 30 times so we had failed. So we tried and tried but we did not improve and only hitting ten.

After that session I thought it was great because we learnt a new sport and new techniques.Badminton seamed like a cool and fun sport so I could not wait for our next session.

  1. Hey Charm, my name is Josh. I am a student at the University of South Alabama majoring in health education. It's really cool to me that you and your classmates got lessons on playing badminton! When I was younger my brother and I had a net set up in our backyard and we would always play each other. Keep up the good work and practice and you will be able to hit 100 in a row in no time! I'm glad you got to learn a new sport and I hope you continue to learn and experience new sports and games!
